margin too small
Answer the questions you scribbled in the margins.
You read research papers on a reMarkable tablet, scribbling questions and connections in the margins. By the time you reach a desk, half of them are still unanswered. margin too small is a small macOS app that helps resolve them.
Open an annotated PDF, drag a rectangle over the region you marked up, and get a grounded answer in the sidebar — with clickable citations that scroll the PDF back to the exact phrase the model is quoting.
How it works
- Open an annotated PDF (⌘O)
- Drag a box over your handwritten note
- Read the answer; tap a
p.Nchip to jump back into the paper
Get the app
↓ Download MarginTooSmall.dmgThe build is ad-hoc signed (no Apple Developer certificate). On first launch macOS may say "cannot be opened — unidentified developer". Right-click the app and choose Open, or use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
You'll also need an OpenRouter API key. Create a file named .env next to the app with OPENROUTER_API_KEY=…. See the project README for details.
